Meet R.W.
Woven Branches, my Southern book series, has become known for shocking revelations, as well as some serious foreshadowing. Perhaps no character is a better representative of this foreshadowing than R.W., the G.R.I.T. train station's mysterious painter.
I wanted to create a fun soap opera character that, when visited on occasion, would provide some signs of what's to come or to tie past events into the current plot line.
These sporadic visits with R.W. have become a frequent conversation piece when I speak with readers. They are intrigued by him, puzzled by his paintings, not quite sure what to make of him. I assure you, all of that is by design.
I must admit, I rub my hands together with excitement every single time I write an R.W. chapter, because I know that there isn't another soap opera character like him, and there likely will never be.
