In Appreciation of Angelia Feathers
When I started preparing to release the first book in my Southern Serial book series, I had an epiphany. I thought, if I could introduce the characters of my little soap opera gradually, but before the book was actually available, maybe readers would already care about them before they even opened the book.
It appears that my theory was correct, as I heard readers say things like, "I just love Billy" or "You better go Misti". Folks were actually rooting for characters that they had yet to see in action. My heart was full.
Now, I must give credit where credit is due... the drawings of Angelia Feathers brought these fictional characters to life. I am so incredibly grateful.
Angelia has been a friend for most of my life. She was already a talented artist when I approached her about a potential collaboration. Imagine how thrilled I was when she was into it.
Now, over a year, and two Woven Branches books later, she has agreed to return to introduce the readers to eight new and exciting characters who will appear in book 3—Woven Branches, The Book of Ruth.
I have come to consider my friend an essential member of my dream team.
