A Stranger Comes to Noeware

By now, you have no doubt read that most of the characters in my Woven Branches soap opera book series were creations from my childhood. I have lived with them in my head for decades.  That is, with the exception of two ...

When I wrote the Road To Noeware, I knew that I needed a way to introduce you, my readers, to a long list of characters. They needed to share a bit of their personal histories without the information coming across as contrived. This is how Allison Edwards was born.

A journalism student writing a story on the town made so much sense to me. I expected her to do her job and become a throwaway character. What I didn't expect was how organically her friendship with Billy would grow within a 200-page novella, and that said friendship would be so incredibly popular with all of you.

I love to watch her spar with Ernie and Ruth.  I enjoy seeing her bond with Meg and Gail.  I adore her love for Billy. So then, who is the second character that I invented on the fly?  I'll let y'all ponder that in the comments.

As always, I sincerely appreciate your interest for Woven Branches. This little soap opera book series is such a labor of love for me.
