Without a Trace...
When I set out to write The Road to Noeware, I knew that I wanted to include a plot involving child trafficking. Why? My own state of Georgia is in the top five states for the most incidents of trafficking.
It was important for me that readers understand that child abduction can happen anywhere, not just in large urban environments but in small towns like Noeware, Georgia.
I didn't just want to tell a story about children going missing, but I wanted to tell the story in a dramatic way of what might happen afterward.
It was also critical to me that I detail how an abduction can affect the entire lives of those people left behind.
I had a feature an ominous landmark, a place where the audience understands that bad things happen. That's where Frog Rock comes in.
By the way, Frog Rock is actually a real place, located in Lithia Springs, Georgia. It just happens to sit a few blocks from my childhood home.
