My Writing Process

There is nothing like the excitement of sitting down to type the first words of a manuscript. In fact, there is almost enough excitement there to make a writer forget how much hard work remains ahead.

Writing an initial manuscript is just step one of a project that usually takes about eight months to complete. My first draft is fairly general, allowing me to outline the important points that I need each chapter to include. Draft two is where I add details that bring Noeware, Georgia to life.

Once I complete the second draft, I give each chapter a hard read, before turning them over to my brilliant Creative Editor, who reviews them as a reader would and makes suggestions to improve the flow of the book.  I'd be lost without her.  After taking her suggestions into consideration and making changes, the manuscript is forwarded to my equally important Final Editor who scrutinizes the text for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.

Finally, the completed manuscript is turned over to my graphic designer who has already created a front cover, and will now format the layout of the book and create the back cover.

While all of this is happening, I am in constant communication with my extremely talented social media illustrator, as well as my wed designer, to keep up with the ongoing marketing process.

There is a lot of work involved in bringing the Woven Branches series to you all, but it is so worth it when I hear your appreciation.
